Caring Moments: Terry and Vicki Winn

A Photographic Tribute to Carers by Terry Winn!

Hawkes Bay photographer Terry Winn and his wife Vicki spent a year traveling around New Zealand visiting the homes of more than 40 New Zealand carers and their families. The result is an emotionally moving photographic collection which has toured the country, with sponsorship from Bupa, and is currently on display in the main corridor of North Shore Hospital in Auckland.

The collection depicts carers and those they support at home, in the lounge or on a porch or deck, laughing at a shared joke, excited at embarking on a new activity,  having fun at a tea party, whizzing by on a skateboard, and getting ready for an outing in the electric wheelchair.

Terry says Caring Moments celebrates the relationships of family carers and those they support.

“You can see how much they appreciate each other and how much they appreciate life, despite all the struggles they have.”
