How The National Carer Resource Centre Can Help You!
Welcome to Carers NZ, the national network for family, whanau, and aiga carers.
The items in our carer infopack will help you:
Discover the types of support available from government, and how to access them.
Learn about Family Care magazine, which you may wish to receive regularly.
Know more about Carers NZ and its National Resource Centre, which can keep you informed about issues and developments important to carers.
Learn about supports and services from our not for profit friends, who may also be able to help you.
Carers NZ was established in 1993 by and for family carers. We support all carers across age groups and caring situations. After reviewing the items in your infopack, you may have questions or need advice. If so, please phone our Centre during business hours Monday to Friday on 0800 777 797, or email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also learn more about our website, www.carers.net.nz, which features the latest news for carers, plus a directory of carer support groups across the country. You’ll be able to identify local transport services, find a pen friend, and link to other sources of help. Here at CarersAir you’ll find emergency planning tools, helpful articles, plus you’ll be able to watch and listen to lots of resources about a wide range of topics of interest to carers. Try our Time Out section, which features videos to help you relax and ‘get away’, if only for a few minutes!
If you provide an email address, we can send you regular electronic newsletters and updates of interest to carers. We can also keep you informed about learning, support, and wellbeing events in your area.
In the meantime, we hope you find the materials helpful. It’s important for carers to feel they are not alone, and to know they are part of a large community of carers across New Zealand (more than 420,000). Carers NZ is here for you, should you need information, advice, learning, or support.
With warmest best wishes,
Sara and the Carers NZ Team
