Lumino Day 2018: Saturday, 5 May Nationwide!

Carers NZ has again partnered with Lumino the Dentists to offer free visits for family carers at participating practices on Saturday 5 May. There are still places available at some practices around the country (see below).

If you are caring for a family member who is sick or has a disability, or know of someone who does, and would like the opportunity for free dental care, we’d like to hear from you. Below is the list of practices which still have available spaces, from North to South.

Click on the link beside the practice name which will take you to an online survey to submit your interest. As your area’s practice fills up with patients we will remove the ability to complete this survey, but you can call Carers NZ to be added to a waiting list.

Carers NZ is partnering with Lumino The Dentists for the second year to help support family carers’ oral health. Almost 600 family carers will benefit from this year’s Lumino Day, be it a hygiene service or simple dental procedures such as fillings.

Lumino staff are volunteering their time to provide free treatments on this special annual day, to brighten the smiles of family carers.

Last year Lumino helped 417 carers. More than 150 Lumino dentists, hygienists and support staff made the day possible, providing treatments worth over $165,000.

Read more about last year’s Lumino Day from carers like Trudy, who thought she would receive a quick check and  was stunned to find the dentist would fix her broken fillings.

“I was so fortunate to go in thinking I only needed a clean, and yet I had two treatments for one leaking filling (who knew!) and one that had fallen out,” she says. “I loved the total package. The care, the caring, the kindness and the amazing gift that I was given, along with other carers throughout New Zealand of course.”

Carers NZ thanks Lumino and its wonderful staff across New Zealand for thinking about family carers, and volunteering their time to provide oral health treatments many could otherwise not afford.
