Learning for family carers and relief carers

Care Matters is a national learning and wellbeing resource service for family carers in New Zealand.  Developed by carers for carers, it is provided by SAMS in partnership with Parent to Parent.

Care Matters enables carers to obtain information and skills that will assist in using the current ‘system’.

Things are changing, so Care Matters equips people with the knowledge and ways to make full use of a more flexible approach to supports and services.

Care Matters is guided by an Advisory Group and e-Leadership Network made up of carers from around New Zealand.

Care Matters offers family/whanau carers of disabled people, and those providing relief care:

  • A website with resources www.carematters.org.nz
