Camino de Santiago: The 500 Mile Journey Through Northern Spain
Buen camino! The story of the ancient pilgrimage to Santiago, now walked and cycled by thousands of people from all over the world each year.
Pack lightly, and perhaps bring a scallop shell (the emblem of pilgrims), and a stone to lay at a special place en route. You may choose to stay at the inexpensive hostels along the way, or splurge on private rooms with your own shower. You might cook with the other pilgrims in the hostels’ shared kitchens, or sample the menus at village restaurants as you travel towards Santiago. Don’t forget to get your pilgrim’s passport stamped along the way! Each stamp will bring back wonderful memories of the places you’ve visited, and the friends you’ve made. George Torrey’s short film highlights the gorgeous scenery along the Camino de Santiago route.
