Karamatura Loop Walk, Huia Regional Park, Auckland

Enjoy this virtual walk in the bush!

Huia – named after Waikato Maori chief, Te Huia – is a lovely coastal hamlet on the Manukau Harbour. With a safe swimming beach (although very tidal), a foreshore reserve (with barbeque), a children’s playground and some lovely walks through the surrounding forest of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, Huia is a great spot for a day trip with the family. Here are highlights of the Karamatura Loop Walk – a 2km trail through some of the beautiful native forest of the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park – complete with chirping birds and tuis!
